A Wine Tasting with Quinta de Sant’Ana: Family Wines & Atlantic Identity

We invite you for a wine tasting to discover a region near Lisbon with a distinct identity of its own in Good Company Books! Quinta de Sant’Ana, in Gradil, Mafra, is a historic estate dating back to 1633, where the vineyard, nature, and family life are all part of the same story. It was here that Ann and James Frost found the ideal setting for a project that blends different cultures with a deep connection to the land. Influenced by the proximity of the Atlantic and the climate of the Lisbon region, the vineyards produce wines that combine freshness, balance, and character. The estate works with both Portuguese and international grape varieties, seeking to express the identity of the terroir through meticulous vineyard work and minimal intervention in the winery. More than just a wine-producing estate, Sant’Ana is a constantly evolving project where tradition, experimentation, and hospitality coexist naturally. It invites visitors to discover a region near Lisbon with a distinct identity of its own. About your host Louise Ellet will be your host for the evening. She is a Wine Sales Manager and has worked in the estate for years. If Lou was a wine, she would be our pink bubbly Espumante! Other than her deep wine knowledge she brings with her a breeze of a Hampshire summer, freckles and all! She is sassy, strong and multitalented professional with a pernicious sense of humour, we much enjoy. She recycles. She is a deep thinker. She loves wine of course, the music of Tash Sultana and has the most contagious laughter. She reads like the wine notes of our Espumante: bright acidity, fine bubbles, raspberries, rose petals, meringue, hay. Dangerously moreish… Please note, there are 2 time slots; at 18:00 and 19:30 for you to pick from when purchasing the ticket! Tickets Space is limited, so please reserve your spot! Tickets include a guided tasting plus snacks. Additional wines will be available to purchase by glass or bottle. The Venue Good Company Books is an independent English Bookstore in Lisbon. By Bus: There are many convenient bus options 2 blocks away from us on Avenida República, with the closest stop to our store being Campo Pequeno-Av. Republica. By Bike: If you're using the Gira public bicycles, there is a docking station right across the street (#431 - Rua do Arco Cego / Av. Magalhães Lima). By Car: There is a paid parking lot across the street, between Rua Arco do Cego and Rua Dona Filipa de Vilhena. Street parking is also available around the neighborhood.
