Move the Qi: An Evening with Master Masahiro Ouchi

Masahiro Ouchi has been practising for 45 years, and on October 21st he is coming to Teja House to teach us. He is the founder and director of TaoZen Life Practice, the Healing Tao Center of New York and the Healing Tao Center of Japan, a senior instructor of Universal Healing Tao, and the author of What is Chi Nei Tsang?, One Minute Meditation and Healing Love, among others. His path began in childhood at a 600-year-old Zen temple in Japan, moved through Kendo, Kyudo and Shaolin Kung Fu, then a year in India at twenty to study yoga. He is a senior student of Grandmaster Mantak Chia, and has also studied under Li Jun Feng (who taught Jet Li), the parapsychologist Dr. Hiroshi Motoyama, and Michizo Noguchi. He has taught at New York University, Queens College, the NY Open Center, Chiva-Som in Thailand, Ananda in the Himalayas and SHA Wellness in Spain, and his students range from global business leaders to underprivileged communities, because he believes these practices belong to everyone. This will not be a lecture. Masahiro asked for three things in the room: conversation, movement and breath. We will hear where the practice comes from and what 45 years of it does to a body, and then we will stand up and do it together. Come in clothes you can move in.
