Opening & Performance: FATÜMATA and Samba Injai

During Lisbon Art Weekend, Aconchego House will open its gallery doors to showcase works by trans and queer artists. Our scheduled program includes a visual arts exhibition by two trans fine artists from the Portuguese diaspora, as well as a live performance by Samba, a gender fluid dancer and performer from Guinea-Bissau. This immersive experience will use art as a tool for discovering gender identity expression as well as internal and social transformation, creating an interactive space for trans and queer visibility and dialogue with the audience through a multidisciplinary artistic experience. The event will celebrate gender identity and resistance through an integrated artistic experience, combining a visual showcase with moments of live performative expression exploring the body, movement, and individual freedom. Designed specifically for the LAW calendar, this initiative aims to promote the co-creation of our trans and genderqueer community in an environment of celebration as well as artistic and interpersonal discovery.
