The Downtown Tour - Where Lisbon's Nightlife Begins

Discover the city by day. Experience it by night. This isn’t the kind of tour where you trail behind a guide from plaque to plaque. It’s a walk that keeps history moving — with stories, details and challenges that make you look twice. Start at Camões Square and climb into Chiado, following Lisbon’s transformation from downtown to neighbourhoods that come alive after dark. Discover façades, ironwork and buildings shaped by earthquakes, revolutions and centuries of change. Pass the Santa Justa Elevator, see the ruins of Carmo Convent and hear how it helped end Portugal’s dictatorship. Then turn literary: visit the world’s oldest operating bookshop and meet Fernando Pessoa outside one of Lisbon’s oldest cafés. Pause for a pastel de nata, included in the tour, with the option to try Lisbon’s famous ginja. Finish at Miradouro de Santa Catarina as golden hour gives way to night, with views over Lisbon’s rooftops, streets and architecture. Discover the city by day. Experience it by night.
