Business Lab: Get investor-Ready - becoming attractive to early-stage capital

Have you considered how your research might be supported or developed beyond traditional research funding? Understanding how different forms of funding relate to early-stage ideas can help you make more informed decisions about potential next steps. This lunch seminar is aimed at researchers who want to gain an overview of the early-stage funding landscape and how it connects to research-driven ideas. The session does not assume that you are seeking investment but rather introduces perspectives that can be useful when considering different pathways for use, application, or collaboration. You will be introduced to different types of funding, including public funding, grants, and private capital, and how these relate to the stage and direction of a project. The seminar will also address how ideas are typically assessed by external stakeholders, and what kinds of considerations may become relevant if research is developed further in a non-academic context. Particular emphasis will be placed on understanding funding as one of several possible ways of supporting the development and use of research, rather than as a starting point.
