🚀 Strange Futures Sci-Fi Book Club November 18th | 7:00–8:00 PMLong Dark House | 1510 King Street, Alexandria Welcome to Strange Futures, Long Dark House’s book club for readers who like to look beyond the known. Each month, we’ll explore science fiction across the genre..from cyberpunk and dystopian futures to first contact, space exploration, artificial intelligence, strange technology, and everything in between. November Pick: Elder Race by Adrian Tchaikovsky For our November meeting, we’re reading Adrian Tchaikovskys' Sci-f Novella, Elder Race. Lynesse is the lowly Fourth Daughter of the queen, and always getting in the way.But a demon is terrorizing the land, and now she’s an adult (albeit barely) with responsibilities (she tells herself). Although she still gets in the way, she understands that the only way to save her people is to invoke the pact between her family and the Elder sorcerer who has inhabited the local tower for as long as her people have lived here (though none in living memory has approached it).But Elder Nyr isn’t a sorcerer, and he is forbidden to help, and his knowledge of science tells him the threat cannot possibly be a demon. . . . Perfect for longtime sci-fi readers and anyone looking for a way into the genre. 📚 Read some/all of book before the meeting and come ready to chat.🚀 New members are always welcome. Strange books. Strange worlds. Strange futures.
