We’ll walk through the complete process from a live bird to a clean, chilled, and packaged chicken ready for the freezer. This class is designed for homesteaders, small farmers, backyard chicken keepers, and anyone interested in becoming more self-sufficient and understanding how to process their own poultry. During the workshop, you’ll learn: • Humane handling and dispatch • Proper scalding temperatures and techniques • Mechanical plucking and feather removal • Evisceration and organ removal • Cleaning and quality-control checks • Food-safety and sanitation practices • Proper chilling techniques • Shrink-bag packaging • How to organize an efficient small-farm poultry processing setup This is a hands-on class, not just a demonstration. Our goal is for you to leave with the knowledge and practical experience needed to feel comfortable processing chickens on your own farm or homestead.
