Cooking Night with Chef Emilia!

WHO: This event is for adults who want to cook, taste, and eat together. No cooking experience is needed, because every step is demonstrated first. Support persons are welcome, but please RSVP separately. Please tell us about food allergies and dietary needs when you register. We need this in advance to plan and shop, not on the night. Please note that there is a required cost to participate in this event (see COST below). If you are new to the ATX NCC community or have not yet registered, please do so here first to become a member and gain access: Open Google Form WHAT: Chef Emilia is back in the kitchen with us! We'll be making party snacks together that you can make on game day or Halloween, and then sitting down and eating what we made. Everyone gets a job if they want one — chopping, stirring, measuring, plating — and it's equally fine to hang out, watch, and be good company. WHEN: 6:30 – 8:30 pm. Please arrive within the first 5–10 minutes; we start with prep and it's hard to catch up once the cooking is underway. WHERE: We will meet at the Odyssey School. Please park/drop-off by the front entrance on Ellingson Lane. We will be in the community room and kitchen spaces. COST: $25 to cover additional staffing costs and groceries. To be approved for this event, you must first pay in advance via Venmo or commit to pay cash in person. WHAT TO BRING: Nothing required, unless you have a preferred beverage. Tie back long hair, and skip loose sleeves if you can. ACCESSIBILITY: Cooking means heat, knives, and strong smells. There is always a job available that involves none of those — if sharp or hot things aren't for you, tell us and we'll put you on a prep task instead. The kitchen gets warm and can get crowded and noisy when everyone is working at once. There will be space to step out and come back. The location is ground level, but the restrooms are small and not wheelchair accessible. You may leave before the end if you feel satisfied — though we'd love you to stay for the eating part. We ask that you let ATX NCC staff know if you will be late or decide to leave early.
