Make Your Own Sun Wheel Flow Prop

In this class we will learn about and build the flow prop known as a sun wheel. With time remaining we will learn some basic techniques. The sun wheel is a relatively new prop in the flow arts world. It consists of a center handle and hoop with a beaded net attached to it. When spun the net opens up creating an interesting visual display of color. While similar to the Sikh weapon called a vadda chakkar, the design we will be making was independently created by the teacher of this class. We will provide all materials to craft your own sun wheel including a wide array of colored beads for your own personal design as well as rope and handle making materials (we use hula hoop tubing scraps to make the beads which helps reduce plastic waste generated by flow arts companies). Chris will guide you through the process of making a sun wheel and at the end of the class we will learn basic techniques and tricks on how to flow with your new prop!
