The plunge is at 12 noon. Location: Sea Bright Public Beach. We will meet near the Sea Bright Beach Pavillion. People with high blood pressure, heart conditions, or other chronic cardiac issues should not plunge, as the cold can cause a sudden increase in heart rate and blood pressure. • Should I drink alcohol? No. Do not drink alcohol before the event, as it does not warm you up and can accelerate hypothermia. • How long should I stay in the water? Just a a few minutes to minimize the risk of hypothermia. • Are wetsuits allowed? No, wetsuits and other protective clothing are not allowed. Footwear is recommended for safety. What should I wear? You must wear shoes at all times. Costumes are encouraged. What should I bring? • Towel • A long jacket or towel to wear right before the plunge • Waterproof or old shoes that will stay on your feet • Plastic bag for wet clothes • Dry change of clothes • Warm clothes to put on afterward • During and after the plunge What can I do in the water? Have fun in the water, but be quick and mindfu & polite of other people in the water. Where can I change? Separate changing areas are typically available for men and women. Bathroom areas should be open inside the Sea Bright Beach Pavillion.
