Spirit: Stallion of the Cimarron at Flint Street Theater

Join us for a free screening of Spirit: Stallion of the Cimarron (G) in honor of Native American Heritage Month. Join us at Flint Street Theater on Saturday, November 14th for Spirit: Stallion of the Cimarron, a powerful animated film that celebrates the untamed spirit of the American West through the eyes of a wild mustang named Spirit. Set during the 19th-century American Indian Wars, the film stands out for its respectful and nuanced portrayal of Indigenous culture, particularly through the character of Little Creek, a young Lakota warrior. Instead of resorting to common stereotypes, the movie depicts a profound bond between Little Creek and Spirit built on mutual respect, freedom, and a shared connection to the land. Spirit: Stallion of the Cimarron is an excellent watch for young children during Native American Heritage Month, as it honors Indigenous resistance against colonial expansion and highlights a deep harmony with nature.
