MIT-Israel invites the MIT research community to join the MIT-Kalaniyot lunch for a presentation on: Tel-Hai, University of Kiryat Shmona in the Galilee (THU) and newly launched MIT-Israel THU Seed Fund Open to MIT faculty in all fields with a priority to water and food related projects Thursday, October 8 | 12 PM Lunch will be at noon with presentation at 12:30 PM MIT 26-414 (Kolker Room) Acces via 60 Vassar St, Cambridge Professor Limor Aharonson-Daniel, PhD Incoming Vice President for Global Engagement at Tel-Hai University of Kiryat Shmona, Israel. A full professor of Public Health, Professor Aharonson-Daniel is an internationally recognized researcher in emergency preparedness, community resilience, and disaster management. She has authored more than 120 peer-reviewed publications and supervised over 30 graduate students. She has extensive experience developing international academic partnerships and leading research collaborations through her previous roles as Vice President for Global Engagement and Vice Rector for International Academic Affairs at Ben-Gurion University of the Negev. Professor Eyal Shimoni, PhD Deputy Vice President for Research and Development at Tel-Hai, University of Kiryat Shmona in the Galilee and as Chair and Scientific Director of Galilee Innovation Labs (GIL). His work focuses on building research, innovation, and entrepreneurship platforms in sustainable food systems, precision agriculture, AI and data for agriculture, climate resilience, and food security. He brings more than 25 years of experience across academia, industry, technology leadership, and entrepreneurship, with a strong emphasis on translating research into practical and scalable impact.
