Stewardship Saturday: Bayard River Walk Planting

Help us plant native plants along the Bayard River Walk! This Saturday we will be going to Bayard Cutting Arboretum to help with planting and invasive plant removal along the River Walk! This program is available for all ages and with parental supervision for those under 14. Time: 9:30am to 12:00pm *Important* Please read the parking instructions or look at the map below instead of trusting the GPS coordinates. Our meeting location is not percieved as part of a real road on Google Maps so a map link could have your destination be on the highway! Parking Instructions: Currently we are waiting to hear back from the park staff to see where we will be parking to do some flooding that takes place along the walk. The map below is if we are parking at Lot C, however this may change by Friday so come back to see if it has updated! Backround Information: The River walk is a winding path along the edge of the Connetquot River filled with Bald Cyprus trees, Alders, American Hollys and other native plants. We have come to the River Walk in the past during the Winter when there isn't as much activity for us to do at the Friendship Garden. Instead of focusing entirely on removing invasive plants we will instead be planting native plants in their place!
