The Encore Exchange

a dancewear drive for families in the charleston area who are looking to swap for bigger sizes and new-to-them items. Encore Exchange is a free community event designed to help local families save money, reduce waste, and connect with one another by exchanging gently used dancewear and children's athletic apparel. Families will bring clean, gently used dancewear, athleticwear, shoes, and accessories their children have outgrown. In return, they will receive Encore Exchange Tickets to “shop” for new-to-them items donated by other families. Families are encouraged to gather: Leotards Ballet slippers Jazz shoes Tap shoes Dance sneakers Character shoes Dance bags Warm-ups Athletic leggings Shorts Athletic tops Jackets Hair accessories Other gently used dance or athletic items Items should be freshly washed and in good, wearable condition. Families browse clothing racks and tables organized by size. No money changes hands. The goal is to create an enjoyable, welcoming shopping experience where every family leaves feeling supported. The event encourages sustainability, community involvement, and accessibility while helping children continue participating in performing arts and recreation without the financial burden of constantly purchasing new apparel.
