Belden and Fullerton) | Free and open to the public.Program:5:30pm Reception5:45pm Welcome and Presentation6:00pm Rocío Ferreira Reverditto in Conversation with Emmy Award Winner Journalist Claudia Cisneros Méndez, (DePaul University)Dr. Rocío Ferreira is the Chair of the Department of Women’s and Gender Studies and a Professor of Latin American literature, culture, and cinema at DePaul University in Chicago; she also directs the international festival Poesía en Abril. The XXX TUMI US Award 2025 honored Dr. Ferreira with the title of “GRAN AMAUTA” 2025, in acknowledgment of her dedication to teaching, spirit of solidarity, a strong work ethic, professionalism, and a deep commitment to the Peruvian communities in the United States. She holds a PhD in Latin American Literature and Women, Gender, and Sexuality Studies from the University of California, Berkeley. She specializes in 19th-century and contemporary visual and literary culture authored by women.
