From Bystander to Upstander (11-12-26) IN PERSON

Presented by: Wren Bailey, Family Services Association & Amy VanVerth, CARE House A bystander is a person who witnesses a boundary violation, or sees a situation where a child is vulnerable. An upstander is someone who doesn't just witness a concern - they take action! In this training you will learn how to be an upstander in child sexual abuse prevention and response. This means you will recognize warning signs of abuse, speak up, and step in to prevent harm. You will support those at risk and create safer environments for children. We will learn to recognize boundary violations and red flag behaviors, distinguish between the different types of Interventions, and apply steps for safe intervention in different scenarios. CEUs Montgomery County Alcohol, Drug Addiction and Mental Health Services has been approved by: the Ohio Counselor, Social Worker and Marriage and Family Therapist Board to offer continuing education credit hours (Provider #RCS111304 and RTX012515) and has approved this training for 1 hour (ethics) CEUs; the Ohio Chemical Dependency Professionals Board to offer recognized clock hours to Chemical Dependency Counselors (Provider #50-17863) and has approved this training for 1 hour of CEUs (C9) . Other licensing boards may also accept these hours, however it is the attendee’s responsibility to establish this prior to attending.
