Rooted In Love Rescue & Sanctuary A division of Seeded Faith Farm Rescue Almont, Michigan RootedInLoveRescue.org 810-751-0201 *****WHO WE ARE***** About Rooted In Love Rescue & Sanctuary Rooted In Love Rescue & Sanctuary, a division of Seeded Faith Farm Rescue, is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit animal welfare organization located in Almont, Michigan, dedicated to rescuing, protecting, and providing lifelong sanctuary to animals in need. Our mission is rooted in compassion, second chances, and the belief that every animal deserves safety, dignity, proper care, and a place to belong. Our sanctuary is home to a diverse family of rescued animals, with a primary focus on pigs and farm animals. Our residents include pigs, horses, goats, sheep, chickens, ducks, turkeys, geese, rabbits, and other animals who have come to us through surrender, abandonment, neglect, medical hardship, age-related needs, or circumstances in which their families could no longer safely care for them. Many of the animals who arrive at Rooted In Love need more than temporary placement. They need rehabilitation, veterinary care, specialized housing, patient socialization, safe introductions, and, in many cases, a permanent sanctuary home. We work to provide each animal with individualized care while creating an environment where they can feel safe, comfortable, and loved for the remainder of their lives. But our vision reaches far beyond animal rescue. Where Animal Rescue and Human Connection Meet As Rooted In Love continues to grow, one of our most important goals is to create a deeper connection between our sanctuary and children and families involved in Michigan’s foster care system. We are working toward developing a dedicated educational and community-centered portion of our sanctuary where foster children, foster parents, adoptive families, caregivers, and individuals with special needs can safely experience the farm, interact with animals, learn new skills, and simply have a peaceful place to connect. Our future programming will focus on meaningful, hands-on experiences such as animal care and husbandry, feeding and grooming, learning about rescue and responsible ownership, incubating and raising poultry, caring for goats and other farm animals, educational workshops, and supervised farm visits. For children who have experienced instability, loss, trauma, or major life transitions, animals can offer something incredibly powerful: a nonjudgmental presence, consistency, and a reason to slow down and connect. Our goal is to offer trauma-informed, therapeutic, non-clinical farm experiences where children and families can build confidence, responsibility, empathy, trust, and positive memories together. We also envision providing opportunities for foster parents and caregivers to participate in educational programs, family activities, and specialized events designed to strengthen relationships while creating meaningful connections with animals and nature. Building for the Future The continued expansion of our sanctuary will allow us to serve both animals and people in a much greater way. Projects such as Pig City, expanded pastures, additional animal shelters, quarantine and medical recovery areas, food and supply storage, and a future educational and community space will allow us to rescue more animals while safely welcoming more children, families, volunteers, and community groups to the sanctuary. Pig City will provide dedicated spaces for rescued pigs needing quarantine, medical recovery, senior care, safe introductions, and permanent sanctuary placement. At the same time, our educational expansion will create a place where the stories of these animals can become powerful teaching tools about compassion, responsibility, resilience, and second chances. Our long-term vision includes developing partnerships and working relationships with foster care agencies, foster families, community organizations, schools, special-needs programs, and other professionals who serve children and families throughout Michigan. Rescue. Heal. Educate. Connect. At Rooted In Love, we believe that rescue has the ability to reach far beyond the animal being saved. Sometimes an animal who has experienced fear, abandonment, or uncertainty can form an extraordinary connection with a child who understands those feelings in a way that words cannot always explain. That is the heart behind our future. We are building a sanctuary where animals receive the second chances they deserve and where children and families can experience compassion, connection, learning, healing, and hope. Rooted In Love Rescue & Sanctuary is more than a place animals come to be saved. We are creating a place where rescue stories become connections, where compassion becomes education, and where both animals and people are reminded that their story is not over.
