You built the technology. Investors are also underwriting a second product: the financial package around it. That means the model, the structure, the risk allocation, and the return story, and most founders don't realize they have to design it until a deal stalls. Investors who finance first-of-a-kind hardware will walk you through what makes that package credible, and where Triangle founders often leave money and leverage on the table. You'll leave knowing what belongs in your data room, how investors read it, and what to fix before your next conversation. Speakers Joe Darcy Joe Darcy is an Investment Director at Volvo Group Venture Capital, focused on North America. With a background in venture investing and financial services, he works with startups developing technologies that advance transportation and industrial innovation. Jennie Graham Jennie Graham is a Senior Associate at Burnt Island Ventures, a specialist water-sector venture fund, and a Board Observer for Cala Systems and Waterly. She invests at the intersection of climate adaptation and community resilience, with a focus on water infrastructure, AI for risk and operations, flood prediction, treatment and reuse, and water demand management. Jennie moved into venture while earning her MBA at Duke, where she worked on deals at Ecosystem Integrity Fund and as a Venture Fellow at Towerview Ventures. She attended Duke as a 2021 Fulbright Scholar and received the Sir Cyril Taylor Memorial Award for Social Entrepreneurship. Earlier, she supported artisan entrepreneurs across Afghanistan, Myanmar, and the Middle East at a social enterprise, and held advisory and leadership roles at The Entrepreneurial Refugee Network and Oxford Entrepreneurs. Josh Grehan Josh Grehan is Partner at Helios Climate Ventures. He brings a depth of operating experience in a range of industries. Most recently Josh helped grow Finch Therapeutics from 10 to over 200 people and raised over $300M in private and public financing including leading Finch's $1B IPO. Before Finch he served in the Canadian Ministry of Foreign Affairs as a Special Assistant to Minister Dion. The Arctic was part of his portfolio. Josh is originally from Lily Plain, Saskatchewan but now calls Durham, NC home.
