First Time Out: Women's Camping Club FIRST TIME OUT: A Women's Beginner Camping Weekend Never camped before? Never camped alone? This is your on-ramp. First Time Out is a weekend built for women who want to learn to camp in a supportive, judgment-free environment — no experience necessary, no partner or family member required. Come as you are, leave knowing how to do this on your own. WHAT YOU'LL LEARN — How to pack for a camping trip (and what you actually don't need) — How to set up and take down a tent solo — Fire-building and campfire cooking basics — Map and compass navigation, plus phone GPS as backup — Trail hiking fundamentals and hydration — Knot-tying, water filtration, and food storage — Leave No Trace principles for responsible camping — How to cook simple, satisfying meals outdoors WHAT'S INCLUDED — All tents (you won't need to own or bring one) — All meals, Friday dinner through Sunday breakfast — Hands-on instruction from experienced guides — A welcoming community of women learning together WHAT TO BRING — A sleeping bag OR comforter/blankets — A pillow — Everything else is provided — clothing, toiletries, and personal items aside, we've got the gear covered By Sunday, you'll leave with real skills, a few new friends, and the confidence to plan your next trip on your own. But if you're attending with a friend, we can accomodate two of you to one tent, if you prefer. Will my dietary needs be accomodated? - Absolutely! Just let us know about any limitations you may have. Do I have to do all the things? - No, this is your weekend.
