Nicole Smith began a deep dive into dementia caregiving as the world shut down during the pandemic. Three of her parents were diagnosed with different versions of dementia and living in separate states across the country. Nicole relied upon communication and delegation skills to form a team of support to navigate the unfamiliar terrain. Nicole documented her frustration and findings in her first book, Diagnosis Dementia: Your Guide for Eldercare Planning and Crisis Management. She drafted a prescriptive memoir complete with vetted resources for fellow daughters decoding the medical, legal, financial, and practical aspects of caring for aging parents. Nicole raised five children in New Jersey, placing her squarely in the Sandwich Generation. Her second book, Your Guide to Sanity in the Sandwich Generation, will be released in January 2027.
