Ironbound Food Tour

This event is powered by The Prudential Community Grants Program. Newark has always had a story to tell. This June, you're invited to taste it. This Food Tour is a guided culinary and cultural walking tour through one of the city's most vibrant neighborhoods — the legendary Ironbound district. Led by the expert guides of Have You Met Newark, the food tour takes you inside three locally-owned eateries and small food businesses, where you'll sample signature dishes, meet the owners and hear firsthand how their food is woven into the fabric of the city. These tours go well beyond what you’ll find in any guidebook. Between each stop, your guide brings Newark's rich history to life — pointing out public art, architectural landmarks and the cultural threads that connect past and present. Whether you're a Newark native or visiting for the first time, you'll leave with a full stomach, new connections and a deeper appreciation for one of New Jersey's most dynamic cities.
