Try It! Beginner Wheel Throwing

A fun, beginner-friendly wheel class—get hands-on with clay and learn the basics of throwing in just one session! Try It! Beginner Wheel Throwing Curious about the pottery wheel? This beginner-friendly workshop is the perfect way to dip your hands into clay! Whether it's your first time or you're brushing off old skills, you'll get a guided, hands-on introduction to wheel throwing—no experience needed. Your instructor will walk you through the process step by step, from centering your clay to shaping your very first pots. Expect a little mess, lots of laughs, and the occasional wobbly masterpiece. That's all part of the fun! You'll make 2–3 pots and choose from a selection of glazes to personalize your creations. We'll take care of the glazing and firing, and your finished pieces will be ready for pickup in approximately 2–4 weeks. Workshop Details Date: Sunday, November 8, 2026 Time: 11 AM–1 PM Instructor: Morgan Farrell Cost: $50 per person (includes clay, tools, glazing, and kiln firing) Ages: 12+ Accessing the Studio Erie ClaySpace is located on the third floor of the PACA building at 1505 State St., Erie, PA 16501. The front doors to the building are locked. When you arrive, call (814) 520-5089, and your instructor will buzz you in. Our elevator is manually operated and cannot be called with a button. Workshop Policies Workshops require a minimum of 5 students to run. If Erie ClaySpace cancels a workshop, you'll have the option to transfer to a similar workshop or receive a full refund. Keep your nails trimmed, tie back long hair, skip the jewelry, and wear clothes you don't mind getting a little clay on. 💔 What If Something Breaks? We handle every piece with care, but ceramics can be unpredictable. Occasionally, pieces crack or don't survive the firing process. 💸 Refunds? Full refunds are available if you cancel at least 48 hours in advance. 📦 When Do I Pick Up My Work? Finished pieces are typically ready 2–4 weeks after your workshop.
