Menopause is Murder Presents: An Evening with Ariel Cooksey Join Menopause is Murder for a fascinating evening with Ariel Cooksey, author of Malice: An Anthology of True Crime and former host of the Malice podcast. What creates a violent offender? Is it biology, upbringing, environment—or a complicated combination of factors? Ariel takes audiences beyond the crime itself to explore the “why” behind violent behavior, examining the psychology, sociology, environment, family dysfunction, neurobiology, trauma, and extenuating circumstances that can contribute to the development of violent offenders. Through true-crime cases, research, and thoughtful discussion, Ariel explores how these influences can intersect and shape behavior—while also examining the complexities of motive, personal responsibility, and the circumstances surrounding violent crime. Ariel will also share selections from Malice: An Anthology of True Crime, offering insight into the cases and research behind her work. The evening will conclude with an opportunity for audience questions and conversation. If you’ve ever finished a true-crime story and found yourself asking, “But WHY did they do it?”, this is an evening designed for you.
