Heaters will be provided. Event Contribution: Adults $15 | Children ages 5–12 $10 You can pay your contribution onsite at the event. FOR ALL AGES / BACKGROUNDS / EVERYONE IS WELCOME Additional Information about Sharad Purnima: Food and fasting It is suggested to eat light foods this day avoid packaged foods, oily junk food. Traditional rice pudding and herbs Kheer, a traditional Indian rice pudding, will be served. It contains milk, rice and sugar cane jaggery. A medicinal powder made of holy basil, long pepper, dried ginger, black pepper, arjuna tree bark, black cardamom and few other herbs is offered to mix in the rice pudding for boosting immunity. If you are pregnant, breastfeeding, taking medication, or considering the herbal preparation for a child, check with a healthcare professional first. Why Kheer Under the Moonlight? Sharad Purnima celebrates the full moon of the autumn season. In Ayurvedic tradition, this night’s moonlight is associated with cooling, nourishment, and balance. As our evening activities unfold, the freshly cooked kheer is placed under the moonlight in keeping with this custom, then shared as prasad—a moment of gratitude and togetherness.
