Tea Ceremony + Whisking Workshop Sunday, September 20, 2026 • 12pm-1pm OR 2pm-3pm • In Person Want to learn more about the Japanese tea ceremony and matcha? Join scholars Dr. Rebecca Corbett and Dr. Michelle Liu Carriger for an afternoon exploring Japanese tea culture at AMOCA. During this one-hour event, Drs. Corbett and Carriger will share their expertise as scholars and practitioners of chanoyu (Japanese tea ceremony), guiding participants through preparing their own bowl of matcha while introducing the history and practice of the Japanese tea ceremony. Every participant will prepare their own bowl of tea and enjoy a traditional sweet alongside it. When you register, select a ticket for either the 12-1pm or the 2-3pm workshop.
