SMART Family Literacy Directors' Network Meeting

Professional development and community collaboration for child care center directors, their administrative teams, or their designees. Topics at these meetings are selected with direct input from child care directors. Is there something you need help with? Let us know by emailing [email protected]. Our last meeting highlighted emergency preparedness ahead of hurricane season, including that SMART Family Literacy should be your first call when damage occurs at your center. We have resources to help you rebuild. In previous meetings, we have had many questions about video surveillance in centers regarding safeguarding staff and families. None of the video companies has responded to SMART's request as of May 26, 2026, but we are still trying to form an information panel. At the August meeting, we will review a draft of feedback to Child Care Regulation in regard to updating Texas Child Care Minimum Standards - specifically in relation to the use of technology, and the rising physical implications of challenging behavior in the post-COVID classroom. Breakfast snacks, coffee, door prizes, and free children's books are provided at every meeting.
