Chaos & Control: Jazz at the Intersection of Art and Design Exhibit

Cortni Bhardwaj is a brand designer, creative director, and owner of Clever Doodle Design, LLC, with nearly two decades of experience in graphic design and brand strategy. Her personal work explores the intersection of art, design, and jazz, including album covers, posters, and book covers characterized by bold forms, expressive typography, and intentional color. Inspired by Art Nouveau, Bauhaus, Blue Note Records, and Russian Constructivism, Cortni draws on jazz’s balance of structure and improvisation to inform her creative practice. She holds a B.A. from Auburn University and a master’s-level certification in Graphic Design from the Portfolio Center at Miami Ad School. Raman Bhardwaj is a commercial and fine artist specializing in murals, paintings, illustrations, live wedding paintings, and custom artwork. Drawing since age six, he holds BFA and MA degrees in Fine Art and began his career as a newspaper illustrator in India, creating more than 3,500 published illustrations. Since moving to the United States in 2018, Raman has been based in North Carolina’s Triad region, where his work combines technical skill with expressive visual storytelling. Art in the Atrium is an opportunity for local artists to show and sell their work at Centennial Station Arts Center. The High Point Arts Council provides exhibit space in our gallery atrium for visual artists, and artists participate during our monthly Art on Tap networking events. No commission is charged, so artists receive the full retail price of their work to reinvest in building and growing their creative practice. This HPAC program also highlights the importance of providing local and regional artists with equitable access to a professional exhibition venue where they can share their work with the High Point community. By activating the atrium gallery as a visible and welcoming space, Art in the Atrium connects artists to the Arts Council’s network of creatives, supporters, and community partners, fostering meaningful relationships, increasing exposure, and strengthening the regional arts ecosystem. The Centennial Station Arts Center Atrium Gallery is open to the public Monday-Friday, 9:00 AM - 4:00 PM, excluding HPAC office holiday closures.
