Mahjong at Market: Open Play and Mini Tournament at RW Collective

Join us at RW Collective for a mini mahjong tournament designed for experienced players who enjoy a little friendly competition. Take a break from High Point Market for a mini mahjong tournament with prizes, friendly competition, and fellow Market attendees. With only 20 seats available, the evening will include two one-hour tournament rounds, a brief break for light refreshments, drinks and prizes for top finishers. All tiles, racks, and mats will be provided. Schedule • 4:30 PM: Arrival, check-in, drinks, and table setup • 5:00–6:00 PM: Round One (High score, Round One: $100 cash prize) • 6:00–6:15 PM: Light refreshments and break • 6:15–7:15 PM: Round Two (High score, Round Two: $100 cash prize) • 7:30 PM: Winners and prizes announced Prizes • First Place: A set of Table & Terrace Waterside Mahjong Tiles • Second Place: A set of Table & Terrace Mahjong racks • Third Place: A Table & Terrace Mahjong mat • Fourth Place: A Table & Terrace Mahjong mat Player requirements This is a limited-seat tournament for intermediate and advanced players. Participants should be comfortable completing approximately four games within one hour. The tournament will follow American Mah Jongg rules using the official 2026 National Mah Jongg League card, eight flowers, and eight jokers, with no blank tiles in play. Participants should bring their own official 2026 card. Tournament format Players will compete across two rounds, for a total of approximately eight games. Players who are comfortable serving as East for a table are encouraged to volunteer during registration. East players will remain at their assigned table for both rounds while other participants rotate. Tournament scoring will be based on the value of each winning hand on the official National Mah Jongg League card. Join us for open play Saturday & Sunday. RW Collective’s game tables will also be available for open Mahjong play on Saturday and Sunday from 1-3pm.
