Embark on an unforgettable birding adventure through the heart of Brazil’s Pantanal with Indiana Audubon in mid 2027. Bird diversity explodes in the world’s largest tropical wetlands, and the near endemics continue along the Brazilian Atlantic coast. This expertly guided tour takes you deep into the pristine landscapes of the Atlantic Rainforest, Mato Grosso, and the Pantanal, offering unparalleled opportunities to observe and photograph iconic species such as Hyacinth Macaws, Toco Toucans, and Jabirus. Beyond the birds, this journey promises thrilling wildlife experiences, including the chance to spot jaguars prowling along riverbanks and giant river otters gliding through the waterways. Whether you're a seasoned birder or a nature enthusiast, this 14-day expedition will immerse you in the breathtaking beauty and biodiversity of Brazil. As part of Indiana Audubon’s commitment to conservation in areas we visit, Indiana Audubon will donate towards a conservation initiative in Brazil through the Mumford & Keller Grants and Scholarship Program. Trip Leaders Wendy Wonderley is an avid birder who has birded on every continent and leads both domestic and international birding trips. Based in Indiana since 2021 after nearly 40 years in Arizona, she discovered her passion for birds about ten years ago. Windy leads Rainbow Birders, a Spencer Pride program for LGBTQ+ and all birding allies, and brings a gift for organizing trips that create exceptional experiences for every participant. She retired as an Environmental Programs Coordinator for the City of Phoenix and has a background as a civil engineer specializing in water resources.
