Heartland Book Festival (October 2): An Evening with Tayari Jones

The 4th Annual Heartland Book Festival kicks off with an evening with Tayari Jones as she discusses her most recent novel. General admission is sold out for the presentation in the main auditorium. Tickets for a live broadcast of Tayari Jones’ presentation in the Woodneath Library Center’s Community Hall are available now. Jones is the author of five novels; her most recent work, Kin, explores the connections between mothers and daughters, friendship and sisterhood, and the complexities of being a woman in the American South. An Oprah’s Book Club Selection, it's been named by The New York Times and Amazon as the best novel of the year so far. Jones is also on TIME's list of the 100 most influential people in the world. Doors open at 5:30 p.m. Enjoy light refreshments. The author talk begins at 6:30 p.m., followed by a book signing at 7:45 p.m. Each attendee will receive a free copy of Kin. Additional titles by the author, such as An American Marriage, are available for purchase at the event. Admission is free, but tickets are required.
