Andrew Rakich // 2026 // 157 mins // Digital // English Join us for the Kansas City premiere of The Vampires of New Orleans, a groundbreaking new docudrama combining Southern Gothic terror with investigations into the city's real-life folklore. Produced entirely locally by the dedicated filmmaking troupe behind the popular YouTube channel Atun-Shei Films, whose first feature The Sudbury Devil was lauded by Dread Central as the best independent horror film of 2023, this film rips away the tourist kitsch and tired literary tropes of the New Orleans vampire to reveal the seething historical injustices lurking just beneath the surface. The Vampires of New Orleans is a genuine epic of tortured Americana, featuring the rigorous research, cinematic flair, and punk rock sensibility that could only come from Atun-Shei Films. Includes a Q&A and meet-and-greet after the show with producer Veronika Payton
