Join Bond House Books on Friday, October 9th from 6-10 pm at The Void Sake Co for a Banned Book Fair! Shop our a wide range of new adult books that have been subject to challenges for representing queer, Black, and marginalized stories. We’ll also have a selection of controversial classics, our book clubs reads, and our usual eclectic picks! Come grab a drink and celebrate the freedom to read with us. October 4-10 is national Banned Books Week. Every year, the American Library Association (ALA) hosts Banned Books Week to bring attention to the nationwide rise in book challenges and censorship. In 2025, the ALA recored 4,235 books challenged at public & school libraries. 66% of books challenged in 2025 were banned, the highest rate of successful challenges in a single year.
