Back for a second year, our fall festival celebrating our amazing sparrows has something for everyone, from walks & talks to sits, sips, sketching, and more. * A $75 all-access pass gets you into all the programs and a free t-shirt ($10 savings). (We'll follow up for correct shirt size.) * Get a free SparrowFest t-shirt with a $25 donation to support our conservation and education programs. Full program details below: Friday, October 23 6:00-8:30 pm - Lino-cut Workshop & T-shirt Print Party! Join artist Brianna Nugent from the Nebraska Game and Parks Commission to create your own sparrow print and pop it on your own t-shirt! $15/person. Saturday, October 24 8:00 am - Bird Banding Demonstration. See live birds get banded with bird biologist Stephen Brenner. $5/person. 9:30 am - Sparrow Sit or Stroll. Free guided bird outings for everyone. (Registration is optional but encouraged. Tickets are free.) 11:00 am - Sparrow ID Basics & Beyond. Everything you wanted to know about sparrows with Stephen Brenner. $5/person. 12:30 pm - Social Lives of Sparrows. Learn about social lives of sparrows in winter, with research by Dai Shizuka. $10/person, light lunch included. 2:30-4:00 pm - Sparrows Scavenger Hunt! Free family fun with live bird show and sparrow search. (Registration is optional but encouraged. Tickets are free.) 4:30 pm - Snappin' Sparrows w/Brady. Introductory photography workshop with SCP staff member and wildlife photographer Brady Karg. $10/person. 7:00 pm - Brown Birds 'n' Brown Ales. Birds and brews fun for adults (21+). $10/person. Sunday, October 25 8:00 am - Bird Banding Demonstration. See live birds get banded with Stephen Brenner. $5/person. 9:30 am - Sparrow Sit or Stroll. Free guided bird outing for everyone. (Registration is optional but encouraged. Tickets are free.) 11:00 am - Sparrows & Sparks! This special prescribed fire workshop will discuss how controlled fires benefit birds. $15/person, brunch (or "BURNch") included. 2:00 pm - Sketching Sparrows. Art workshop with Katie Nieland. $10/person.
