Acting Techniques For Improvisers with Hollis Beck

Get ready to level up your improv game with some cool acting tricks from Hollis Beck. “My Scenework is Not Specific”: Adler and Emotional Memory You’ve just initiated a scene and your scene partner obviously has no idea what you’re doing. You think you’re being very clear – why is your object work and base reality getting lost in translation? Stella Adler changed the American Theatre by looking at The Method, shaking her head, and going “we can do better”. In this class we’ll explore a selection of exercises designed to tap into your imagination and tactile relationship with the world around you. You’ll leave with systems you can apply at any time to build a library of memories, sensations, and relationships – which can then be used to create scenes quicker, more intentionally, and with more details that keep your audience and scene partners invested.
