Storytelling and Healing: The Sides of Suicide

This event is hosted by yours truly and Ash Morgan, both of whom bring our own perspectives and lived experience to the conversation. Rather than approaching suicide as a single narrative, the evening will explore its many sides: grief, survival, prevention, and the quiet strength it takes to keep going. The goal is to create space where difficult truths can be spoken aloud and where listening itself becomes an act of care. Storytelling has long been a way for people to process pain and find connection in shared experience. By gathering in person at The Garden Church in downtown San Pedro, attendees will have the chance to sit with these stories together, ask questions, and reflect on how suicide touches so many lives in ways that often go unspoken. Whether you're joining because you've lost someone, because you've faced your own dark moments, or because you want to better understand how to support others, this evening is meant to be a place of openness rather than judgment. Light refreshments will be available, and there will be time to connect with others after the stories are shared. We ask that everyone attending come with an open heart and a willingness to listen. These conversations can be heavy, but they can also be deeply healing when held with care and respect.
