Established in 2024, this ensemble is composed of professional singers who serve as musicians in parishes and cathedrals throughout Connecticut, many of whom have been friends and colleagues for decades. Through their performances, Canticum Novum seeks to bring this timeless music to life, connecting the voices of the past with audiences today. Their newest program, "America: Yesterday's Vision, Tomorrow's Hope", is a celebration of the music that helped define our identity as a nation. You will hear many well-loved folk tunes and hymns that originated in the American Church, as well as compositions written in the "American" style and even a world premiere! The ensemble hopes this music inspires all of us to continue to work towards a bright future of peace and love in our country and in the world at large.
