Full description from organizerShow less
Join our Conservation Corps and plant some trees for owl habitat! Did you know owls need a group of pine trees to live in and nurture their owlets? We've received a generous donation of fifteen eastern white pine saplings from the Home Depot Foundation for us to create a future habitat for our great horned owl population. On this special ANC Conservation Corps workday, we will carry our saplings up to the Mead School Trail section that professional biologists and foresters have designated as the perfect future owl habitat. Ranger Maria, who is a licensed CT Arborist, will guide and assist in the planting to give these pines a good chance at long lives. All experience levels welcome—bring sturdy gloves, a refillable water bottle, and dress for the weather. We will meet in the Redwing Pond House parking lot: 21 Milan St, Ansonia, CT 06401
