The Great Ice Cream Assembly, New Haven

Come for the free ice cream cake, stay for the innovative democratic experiment! As you might have heard or read about, Connecticut is launching an exciting new Citizens’ Assembly to make recommendations to our state legislature about how to improve the issue of property tax and local service delivery. But perhaps you’re wondering what a Citizens’ Assembly is? Or perhaps you’d like your input to make its way to the 100 randomly selected citizens who will be deliberating on the issue over the summer? Or maybe you just want to meet interesting people from across New Haven and eat free ice cream cake together. No matter how you slice it, this is the event for you. Please join us for our LAST Great Ice Cream Assembly. Come sign up for a 30 minute session where you’ll learn more about our state’s Citizen Assembly, get a chance to share your ideas and give input that will be heard by the Assembly and then, ultimately the state legislature. And oh, did we mention the free ice cream cake? UPDATE: Tuesday will be the LAST of the Great Ice Cream Assembly as the Citizens' Assembly will conclude its work on September 26th.
