An Evening with Danny Meyer

Restaurateur Danny Meyer discusses his new book and the leadership principles behind building a culture that scales. The National Arts Club is thrilled to welcome restaurateur Danny Meyer — founder and owner of Union Square Café, Gramercy Tavern and the Shake Shack empire, among others — for a conversation about his new book, What Could Possibly Go Right? Nearly twenty years after his bestselling book Setting the Table introduced the world to "Enlightened Hospitality," Meyer returns with an honest, hard-won account of building a culture that scales — through growth, setbacks, reinvention, and change. From a single burger kiosk called Shake Shack to a global company spanning 700 businesses in twenty-four countries, Meyer explains the mantras and leadership principles (Don't F'ing Settle, Change Your Grip, and Think Like a Winemaker) that have guided him. Come hear one of hospitality's great minds share how culture — not just cuisine — is what keeps people coming back.
