Halfway to 2050: designing the next era of supplier engagement in chemical value chains

Join CO2 AI and the American Cleaning Institute for a roundtable discussion, followed by an informal happy hour, on where supplier engagement stands today across industries with chemical value chains, and how it must evolve to accelerate decarbonization on the path to 2050.Industries with complex chemical value chains have largely moved beyond identifying where Scope 3 emissions sit. As practitioners across the sector have observed, the critical challenge now is execution rather than awareness: translating product-level data into operational decisions, building capacity for your suppliers to share trusted primary data, and ultimately, making measurable progress on decarbonization. Two constraints on execution recur across chemical value chains: Comparability: Measurement and standards are often not harmonized amongst suppliers and customers, leaving recipients uncertain whether the data they hold can be compared or acted on. Capacity: Supplier ability to respond varies widely across a diverse base, and data requests continue to arrive faster than the capability to answer them well. This session will bring together senior sustainability and business leaders from industries with chemical value chains to explore how we can tackle these two constraints and what comes next. Also joining are voices from PACT (Partnership for Carbon Transparency), Together for Sustainability (TfS), and companies like Clorox and Nouryon. Participants will represent suppliers and customers with experience on one or both sides of the challenge. The session is designed to help participants drive progress with what they have today while shaping the next era of supplier engagement—one that delivers better data, stronger supplier capabilities, and accelerated action on decarbonization.
