Living Room Lectures presents Eavesdrop: An Evening of Toasts

Eavesdrop is a cocktail party built around short personal toasts and the conversations they spark. Six featured guests will each raise a glass to a common theme. For our first event, they’ll toast an aspect of queer New York that has mattered to them. It might be a person, place, memory, tradition, community, or idea. Eavesdrop is a storytelling event, but it’s also a conversation experience. Each toast offers a different entry into the theme and a reason to keep talking after the glass comes down, with light facilitation along the way. The toasts are brief and spread throughout the evening, leaving plenty of time to eat, drink, and meet new people. Come raise a glass to queer New York. Abundant grazing tables of snacks and small bites will be available throughout the evening, with vegan and gluten-free options. Wine and nonalcoholic options are included. ATTIREA little dressed up. VOLUNTEERSFor this pilot event, we’re putting together a small volunteer crew to help with setup, guest welcome, food and drinks, and cleanup. Volunteers receive free entry, and shifts will be scheduled so there’s still plenty of time to enjoy the evening.
