NYC Salt: The Next Generation of Visual Storytellers

A presentation with NYC SALT's Alicia Hansen, Alumni & Students Alicia Hansen, photographer and founder and CEO of NYC Salt, discusses the mission and impact of the nonprofit arts organization. Founded by Hansen in 2005 as an after-school program in Washington Heights, NYC Salt engages, inspires, and empowers New York City youth through photography instruction, mentorship, and college-preparatory guidance. Hansen will explore how the camera serves as a catalyst for self-discovery and career opportunity. The event will feature students and alumni presenting their work, showing how these emerging photographers use the lens to cultivate agency, belonging, and identity while documenting their families, communities, and cultures.
