Seven Curious Ants — JooHee Yoon in Conversation with Sophie Blackall

Join us for an evening with acclaimed artists and picture-book creators celebrating the launch of Seven Curious Ants BOOK PRESENTATION Seven Curious Ants by JooHee Yoon ✨ JooHee Yoon in conversation with the extraordinary Sophie Blackall October 22 · 6:30 PM What happens when it’s time to find a new home? On the day the 200,501st ant is born in a crowded anthill, seven adventurous ants decide it’s time to leave. They set off through the woods in search of a place with more space and more light, less work and more play. One by one, they each find a place that seems just right — but is it? Drawing on her skills as a printmaker, JooHee Yoon has created a classic adventure story: a tiny quest with big themes of friendship and home that will stand the test of time. Her colorful, textured illustrations are filled with details to discover, creating a world that feels both timeless and wonderfully contemporary — where the visual energy of classic picture books meets a modern fairy-tale sensibility. JooHee Yoon’s work has appeared in The New York Times, The Washington Post, The New Yorker, and Le Monde. She is the author and illustrator of Beastly Verse, Up Down Inside Out, and The Tiger Who Would Be King. And Sophie Blackall, whose extraordinary work and contribution to the world of picture books speak for themselves, needs little introduction. We look forward to welcoming you all to celebrate two remarkable authors and illustrators and to share this special evening with them. 🐜📖✨
