WAYU is a music experience series inspired by the Korean tradition of enjoying music, art, and moments of leisure in nature, reimagined for today. Let the sounds of traditional instruments bring landscapes to mind and give you room to rest. Our first journey begins in the heart of New York, in a hall surrounded by the warmth of wood. Small moons glow across the floor. A comfortable place to lie down awaits. Korean music flows through the room. For two hours, settle into your own pace. Four musicians bring traditional Korean instruments to life, with no amplification between their sound and you. Guided meditation and the deep resonance of the jing, a Korean gong, open and close the experience. Settle onto a cushioned mat, rest your head on a Korean-style bolster pillow, and make yourself comfortable. Lie down and sleep.Sit up and watch the musicians.Or simply do nothing at all.
