Join Black Lives Matter Grassroots Long Beach for Divine Melanin Energy with Professor Zahalea, a Black-centered outdoor wellness and self-defense experience created for women. Part of our Divine Woman Wellness Series, this gathering invites us to tap into the warrior within while exploring wellness through movement, self-awareness, personal safety, and the connection between mind, body, and spirit. Led by renowned Long Beach martial artist and RA Life Defense founder Professor Zahalea Anderson, participants will experience practical self-defense techniques, movement, breath, awareness, and practices designed to strengthen confidence and help us trust our bodies and instincts. Professor Zahalea is a second-generation practitioner of Sanuces Ryu Ju-Jitsu whose martial arts lineage includes her father, Grand Master Urban Muhammad, and the late Dr. Moses Powell. Her approach goes beyond physical defense to center self-love, discipline, preparation, spiritual alignment, and community empowerment. No martial arts experience is necessary.
