DEC Approach: Moving from Awareness to Action

This training will be in a hybrid format. This is part 2 of 2 DEC trainings. ***Each participant should be registered using their own name and contact information. To ensure fairness and accurate attendance records, registrations are limited to one seat per person. We kindly ask that attendees not register multiple individuals under the same name or attempt to reserve seats for others. We have both in-person and virtual tickets. _________________________________________________________________________________________ This training focuses on how to implement the DEC Approach, a strategy based on a common vision, ongoing collaboration between various disciplines and agencies, and ongoing changes in practice. The DEC Approach is effective in improving the likelihood of better outcomes for drug-endangered children. This training provides insights about how all professionals are able to identify, protect, and serve drug-endangered children and their families. Learning Objectives • Understand the components, benefits, and challenges of the DEC Approach. • Understand the importance and benefits of sharing a common vision in the DEC Approach and in DEC efforts at various levels. • Gain insights about how our own experience, attitudes, values, and emotions impact effective efforts under the DEC Approach. • Gain insights about our collaborative partners to decrease frustrations when utilizing the DEC Approach. • Be able to implement changes in identification of children, mandatory reporting, evidence and information collection, and other changes in our respective practices on behalf of drug-endangered children.
