It is a hands-on training where participants learn to share lived experiences, advocate for community issues, and communicate with policymakers about mental health needs.

NCDHH and NAMI Nebraska are partnering to bring NAMI Smarts for Advocacy to Nebraska’s Deaf, DeafBlind and Hard of Hearing community. NAMI Smarts for Advocacy is a hands-on training designed to build skills for mental health advocacy. Participants will learn how to share their lived experiences, advocate for issues that affect them and their communities, and communicate with policymakers about mental health needs and services. Whether you are new to advocacy or already have experience, this training will give you practical tools and opportunities to practice your advocacy skills.
