AI for Good: Driving AI Transformation with Community Trust

As part of our SV2 AI for Good Hub, a dedicated space where we explore the intersection of artificial intelligence and social impact with curiosity, humility, and care, we invite you to join us for an evening of insightful conversation and community connection. The event opens with remarks by KQED Contributor Ella Jackson, who will then moderate a panel of Grantee and Investee leaders who are actively navigating the ever-evolving AI landscape. Ella reports on energy, artificial intelligence, and local happenings in San Francisco. She contributes to KQED’s digital and radio teams. Before transitioning to journalism, Ella spent five years working on vehicle electrification at the World Resources Institute. Meet our Panelists: Remi Sobomehin is the Founder and CEO of Ambition Angels, a nonprofit that brings career exposure to teens on their phones and on the computers in their classrooms, so every student has access to the experiences that shape the future. Most teens have seen fewer than five careers up close. Ambition Angels changes that through simulated internships and real conversations with adults about what comes next. Since launch, it has reached more than 3,500 teens, 87% of them from Title I schools. Gene Shi is the CEO and Co-founder of Learning Genie, an award-winning education technology company and creator of Curriculum Genie, the first agentic AI curriculum platform to achieve ESSA Evidence Tier 3 validation through a study conducted by Johns Hopkins University. In partnership with CAST, Dr. Shi pioneered agency-based learning, championing student–teacher co-design of curriculum units with AI for highly engaging and high-quality instruction and learning. Jesus Guerrero is the Operations Manager at StreetCode Academy, a nonprofit providing free tech education and resources to the community. Jesus moved around a lot growing up and noticed how school demographics and school resources go hand in hand. The biggest difference was the technology available to them. Now, they are working to bring technology access to the community and teach others how to use it to its full potential. Beatriz Acevedo is the CEO and Co-founder of SUMA Wealth, an innovative fintech platform helping young people, families, and emerging entrepreneurs build wealth and manage money. A serial founder with a three-decade track record. Recognized with Emmy, MTV, and Media Correspondent Awards, her thought leadership on AI, equity, and economic empowerment has been featured across major media outlets like Forbes and The Wall Street Journal.
