Hiking by Transit: Fifield-Cahill Ridge Trail

This trail is one of the lesser-visited sections of the Bay Area Ridge Trail: it's both quite remote and the trail is only open with an SFPUC-approved guide to protect the city's water supply, sensitive habitat, and species that depend on the watershed.Read about the trail here: https://ridgetrail.org/trail-section/san-francisco-watershed-skylawn-trail/This is a strenuous, long-distance hike (approximately 13mi). From the bus stop at Hwy 92 and Skyline Blvd, it's around 2mi to the southern trail gate. After that, we'll hike approximately 8mi through the protected watershed land to the gate on the northern end, and a final 3mi down to Skyline College.There is no spot to fill up on water en route. Please bring enough water and food for the hike.
