TEDxCalle Aldama Adventure: Partners Beside Us

Where hoofbeats meet robotics: explore trust, communication, and innovation at this in-person TEDx adventure. Español Debajo The Partners Beside Us From Hoofbeats to Robotics — A TEDxCalle Aldama Adventure A horse meets a robot. It sounds like the beginning of an unlikely story, yet it raises a fascinating question. One navigates the world through instinct, sensitivity, and memory. The other through sensors, algorithms, and engineering. What might these two very different forms of intelligence teach us about communication, trust, and the nature of connection? On November 11, TEDxCalle Aldama invites you to step outside the ordinary for an afternoon at La Candelaria in San Miguel de Allende. An opportunity to encounter something unexpected, learn through experience, and spend time with people who share a genuine curiosity about the world around them. With Esperanza Equina, we'll enter the remarkable world of horses, discovering how they communicate through subtle movements, awareness, and trust. It's an invitation to pay attention to a language that has existed long before our own technologies. DivertRobots will introduce us to an entirely different kind of intelligence. Through a live robotics demonstration, we'll see how machines navigate their surroundings, respond to information, and challenge our assumptions about what technology can become. And bringing these worlds together will be the music of saxophonist Freddy Thomson, creating the perfect atmosphere for conversation, new friendships, and an afternoon shared among curious minds. There is also a larger purpose behind this gathering. The event will raise funds for three organizations —TEDxCalle Aldama, DivertRobots, and Esperanza Equina— each contributing in its own way to a more imaginative, connected, and engaged community. Perhaps the most interesting part of the afternoon won't be what we already know about horses or robots, but what happens when we encounter them side by side. When instinct meets invention, familiar assumptions begin to shift, and new questions emerge. Transportation courtesy of BYD: BYD will sponsor transportation from Fábrica La Aurora to La Candelaria, with departures beginning at 3:20 PM. Space is limited and transportation is subject to availability. We hope you'll join us for an afternoon of unexpected encounters, good company, and ideas worth exploring.
